Takes forever to load and close. Can't get the non-vr version to work. Multiple tries and I can't get the first cab switches to hi-lite much less work.. New to VR and thought I'd have a look for a title to play. Quite like sim games of various types, have a couple of train sims that are okay but have always been a let down when it comes to the graphics. This game is however very pretty when it comes to the graphics, the detailing is excellent. There are a few areas that need to be worked on, it is early access after all, being the driver and the fireman for the steam train gets old very quickly for example but otherwise there is a surprising amount of polish.I read a number of reviews that bemoaned various issues with VR, but I read the Steam community pages, understood what was happening and so have not had any issues at all. What can I say, maybe as a new VR owner I read the manual and understood how to calibrate my equipment?Headset: Samsung Odyssey Plus. I work on the railroad and still come home and play this game. This game is amazing and the devs are doing a great job creating this world. I play this with keyboard and mouse. The devs are always working and bringing out patches. A lot of things could be added like showing the grades of the terrain on the map and having a positive and negative speed rate per minute guage in the engines. Can't wait to see the finished product when it happens.. I was going to write a gigantic review, like I normally do, but I'll keep it short for this one. If you like active Developers who update the game and fix issues, these guys get things DONE. If you like trains, train simulators, and the like... you should probably own this game anyway. There might be a way to get into a locomotive and drive it, but I'll never know because I'm unwilling to drill a hole in my floor. The cute little gimmicky controls menu is allegedly sitting on a coffee table in the game, which is actually 4 feet below your sublfoor irl. Dont bother trying to pick stuff up if you drop it, and forget about the lost and found. It was a nice idea, but the devs just didn't bother actually making it work. I know this is early access, but in the year 2019, what game isn't? If this game becomes playable one day, I'll eat my words if I haven't forgotten about it. This version is compatible with older versions of DwarfCorp.Changes Fixed a bug which was causing rail combinations to get placed incorrectly. Fix rare crash when loading from a save file and creatures are attempting to fight a creature that is already dead. Attempt to fix somewhat common crash where the game resets to the intro state during saving/loading. Fix memory leak in save files. Fix issue which was causing peace envoys not to work. Do not list employees that are on adventures in the employee list. Interacting with them on this screen was sometimes leading to bugs. Fix graphics bug in employee details screen. Fix rare crash that happens when attempting to draw the GUI from a game state that has been exited from another thread. Fix subtle bug that was causing some trade goods to disappear when the player had an almost (but not completely) full stockpile.. Fix issue that would cause dwarfs not to gather resources for wall building.Trade: fix bug that was causing trade goods such as marble to end up getting stored in graveyards.Trade: fix exploit that allowed the player to trade infinite goods when there was no stockpile space.AI: Fix numerous issues with swimming creatures pathfinding.AI: merge in the “nicer animals” branch. Animals now only attack when hungry. All creatures now attack back when hunted. The exceptions are giant snakes, golems, and demons which are now considered “monsters” and behave as they did before.Graphics: fix appearance and animations for mud golems and snow golems.Flavor: fix some minor bugs in creature name generation, and give demons, necromancers and goblins slightly more interesting names.Graphics: raindrops are now stopped by liquid.Graphics: calculate water reflection plane at the start of the game to prevent graphical artifacts on startup in water.AI: dwarfs stop sitting when their chairs have been destroyed for whatever reason.Resources: delete the explosive keg resource, as it is no longer used (explosive kegs are now built in place rather than at an anvil.)AI: fix bug that caused dwarfs to go on strike forever.AI: dwarfs now attempt to get their back pay when you have missed a payment but now have sufficient money in the treasury as opposed to ignoring back pay.AI: fix bug that was preventing creatures from destroying player built turrets.Flavor: fix the name of trade envoy leaders so that it actually matches a member of the trade envoy rather than being random.AI: tweak mating so that creatures in animal pens are more likely to mate. Display the gender of animals and whether they are pregnant already so you can tell whether animals in a pen might mate.. 17.09.04: We've just pushed build 17.09.04 to Steam. In this build, we have been focusing exclusively on UX improvements, performance enhancements and basic bug fixes. As we’ve been holding off on new features the crashes we’re finding are getting more and more rare, and are harder to reproduce.ChangesOptimizations to the way dwarfs sense enemies. This should result in a slight performance boost.Add instrumentation and null checks while generating new worlds. (This is an attempt to find the root cause of a common crash that hasn’t yet been fixed.)Fix crash while adventuring dwarfs are attempting to eat.Introduce an “invalid resource” that will be generated when a resource doesn’t exist in the game’s library (like a particular kind of dirt, ore, etc.) rather than crashing the game. This will “fix” a few common crashes, but doesn’t address their root cause (which we haven’t discovered yet).Clear out bad textures from the texture cache whenever the graphics device gets reset.Fix minor exploit which allows the player to build at the top layer or on bedrock by holding ALT and using the scroll wheel.Fix more rare crashes during world generation.
